CAN-SOLVE CKD

The Canadian kidney community has come together and has put in an application to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for a $25 Million initiative called Canadians Seeking Solutions and Innovations to Overcome Chronic Kidney Disease (Can-SOLVE CKD). The Kidney Foundation is a proud partner of this network focused on patient-oriented research and its inaugural Patient Council.

Why Become a Board Member?

"Being a Board member of a national health charity is not for the faint of heart." according to Dr. Julian Midgley, Immediate Past President of The Kidney Foundation's National Board. "It requires hours of reading… and sitting… and talking… and sitting again (on planes, trains and automobiles, in economy). It requires commitment not only to the cause, but also to leadership and governance roles in Canadian charities. It demands a certain selflessness, giving up nights and weekends. But the rewards are great."
