Fragrant Connections at Christian Counseling Conference
Have you seen the movie War Room?
If you haven’t, it’s a “must see” that can truly deepen your prayer life. The movie ignited a fire within me to get back to my fragrant prayer closet – the bathroom. If you’re thinking about an unpleasant smell in relation to the bathroom, think again. When I add essential oils that Jesus, the Author of Creation designed to a diffuser or the bathwater, the fragrance of God fills the room. With the red glow of the flowered diffuser, praise music in the background, my “spiritual baths” become a powerful time of prayer.
The picture to the right is of an essential oil diffuser in my bathroom.
As you can see, there appears to be an angel coming up and out of the diffuser!
When I watched Elizabeth Jordan, the main female character in War Room pray like crazy in her clothes closet, it dawned on me that it had been several months since I had my “spiritual baths.”
Although I read my morning devotionals, there was something more powerful about these evening times. I realized that I missed the pure intimacy with the Lord. My baths became prayers of cleansing from the “stench” from my life and the lives of other people, and immersing in the love and fragrance of Jesus. The next week, I returned to my “war room” several evenings. (See below for an Aromatic Bath Recipe!)
At the American Association of Christian Counselors Conference the following week, I strolled down the aisle of the exhibit hall and did a double take. Standing next to me was TC Stallings, the actor who played the main character Tony Jordan in War Room! After introducing myself I exclaimed, “thank you for getting me back to my war room"! I just happened to have a Biblical Oil in my bag, so I gave him one to enhance his prayer times. After a brief explanation of the oils, he thanked me and I went on my way. The conference was not only a great opportunity to meet TC, but to connect with several vendors whose mission goes along with the theme of the conference “Be Strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” Eph 6:10. Kara Miller, (pictured on right), represented Timberline Knoll, a treatment program which focuses on helping women who struggle with eating disorders, addictions, mood disorders, trauma/anxiety disorders and other mental health issues.
There are many who work in the mental health field who are not aware that the chemical properties of essential oils travel directly to the limbic system of the brain and may help with emotional balancing. It was a great time of educating and networking with people who have a heart for helping others to be overcomers.

Rosie’s Favorite Essential Oils for Bathwater
My favorite oils to add to the bathwater are lavender and frankincense. I have found that I sleep better, and mobility is easier the next day due to the combination of Epson salts and essential oils.
The Oils of Shakan Biblical blend is a favorite of mine to add to the diffuser. For me, the oils from the Scriptures come to life and evoke a deeper connection to the presence of God. Why not try them?

My assistants, Michelle & Kathy, were at the ProHealing Festival at Walnut Hill Park in New Britain, CT on September 26th. Jesus's Light was certainly present, powerful, and Most High. Michelle stated that she has a deep love for the city of New Britain and was thankful that both herself, Kathy, and Oils of Shakan was able to bring the fragrance of God's love and joy into the atmosphere that day.
