Please Pre-Register!  Call 413-570-3061, email earlychildhood@collaborative.org, or sign up at the Library!

Did you know that you can help your child grow into reading by talking, playing, sharing books and even singing together?  In First Steps to Reading we’ll find out why these things are important and have lots of time for parents & children to do fun activities together.

To get the most out of the workshop, families should plan to attend all four sessions.  Each session starts with a light supper, child care is provided during parent learning times, and you’ll receive a book at each session to take home.

R.E.A.D.
Reading Education Assistance Dogs

This program improves children's reading and communication skills by having them read to a dog.  R.E.A.D. dogs are registered therapy animals that have been trained and tested for health, safety, appropriate skills and temperament. When a R.E.A.D. dog is listening, a child's reluctance to read is transformed into eager anticipation and learning occurs.

Join us and our newest volunteer, Ben, every other Wednesday from 4:30-5:30pm.  Sessions are 20 minutes. For children entering grades k-3. Registration is required.  Call the library at 267-3866.
