OTS Consultation for Processors and Recycled Product Manufacturers – October 22nd 2015 Notice of OTS Consultation for Processors and Recycled Product Manufacturers – October 22nd 2015 starting at 9am
Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) is announcing a consultation for all registered Processors and Recycled Product Manufacturers (RPMs) to discuss proposals for changes to the current Processing Incentive (PI) and Manufacturing Incentive (MI) programs and rate structures in 2016 and 2017. These proposals include:
- Restructuring the existing PI rate structures;
- Introduction of new incentive programs for manufactured and “value-added” products;
- New incentives for the production of and construction with Rubber-Modified asphalt.
This consultation will mark the start of a process to gain stakeholder input into and feedback on these new approaches to stimulating the continued growth in high-value uses for Ontario-produced crumb rubber and the Ontario-centric recycled product manufacturing industry. OTS has engaged a consulting firm to support the development of clear and transparent policies and processes to support these proposed changes and they will be introduced at the consultation session.
This Consultation will be held at the OTS offices and is scheduled to run from 9am until 11am. In-person attendance will be limited to two attendees per company, a call-in and webinar option will be made available to accommodate additional attendees or those unable to attend in-person. Materials to be presented at the Consultation will be distributed in advance of the session and will be posted on the OTS website.
All interested participants are asked to confirm their attendance no later than 4pm Tuesday, October 13th by e-mailing info@rethinktires.ca with the names of the people who will be attending the session. In-person attendance will be accommodated on a "first-response first served” basis.
