Our 2015 harvest is complete! All the babies are safely in the winery! This years’ growing season was the best in our new history. Warm, sunny, dry days marked the majority of the ripening season here at JOLO.
October is a beautiful time to visit us. We have more wines than ever to sample and the weather is great for taking in the fall foliage and majestic views of Pilot Mountain from our patio or really anywhere on our estate grounds. 2014 Grey Ghost/2015 Golden Hallows
Our Grey Ghost wine offering is making its last run through JOLO! For our next release we are changing the name of our signature white wine blend from Grey Ghost to Golden Hallows. We chose the adjective "Golden" for the glorious color of our Vidal Blanc based blend. The term "Hallows" pays homage to the Town of Pilot Mountain, whose first name was Hallows in the mid 1700’s when it was just a small hamlet. We have just over 30 cases remaining of the award winning Grey Ghost. When it's gone, it's gone forever! We released the 2014 Grey Ghost on December 20th of last year and in less than 11 months we will be SOLD OUT!
2014 JOLOTAGE
The inaugural edition of the JOLOTAGE was released on January 15, 2015 and we were completely SOLD OUT by August. The JOLOTAGE has earned gold medals in North Carolina and silver medals in Sonoma, California. The 2014 release of JOLOTAGE, just released in August, has recently won gold medals at the Asheville Food and Wine Festival and at the NC State Fair Wine Competition and is quickly becoming a JOLO fan favorite. It has also been picked up by several Winston Salem and Raleigh boutique restaurants, wine stores and by Lowe's Foods and Harris Teeter grocery stores. 2014 Pilot Fog
The inaugural 2014 Pilot Fog has quickly become the JOLO enthusiasts’ "go to" wine. It won a gold medal in Asheville in its first week on the market and has since picked up a silver medal at the NC State Fair Wine Competition. It is deep and rich with an alluring bouquet and rounded mouth feel. It is JW's personal favorite to date! Click here to buy!
2014 Crimson Creek
The 2014 Crimson Creek is winning over Pinot Noir fans by the droves! We have already sold more 2014 Crimson Creek in the first 30 days than the first six months of the 2013 version! This luxurious light to medium bodied wine is layered in enticing aromas of dark cherry, mocha and ripe raspberry. This elegant wine has a supple and velvety finish with balanced tannins and red fruit and crushed herbs. This fine wine should be paired with salmon, lamb, rabbit and pork or to be enjoyed on its own. This wine will continue to age gracefully for a decade or more. Click here to buy! JOLO's Cynthiana and Chambourcin grapes are earmarked for single varietal, single block Estate bottled designations. The other varietals produced at JOLO will ultimately become a part of a blend whose composition will not be known until the week before bottling of the 2015 JOLOTAGE. One-third of the 2015 JOLOTAGE will be barrel aged for an extended period of time for the first ever JOLOTAGE Cellar Reserve bottling. New Wine Offering!
We also will be producing a brand new wine! This will be a wine in a new category and will exemplify the passion and focus on hand craftsmanship and artisan winemaking here at JOLO. The code name for this new wine is “Jubilee." We believe that this new wine will break all sales records at JOLO. Stay tuned as we will have a “name that wine” contest with big prizes!
