Minds Do Matter Art Exhibitions 
Presented by MI Fellowship
Artists who have a direct or indirect experience of mental illness including have submitted amazing  artworks as part of two exhibitions 
in support of Mental Health Week

Hobart

Waterside Pavilion – Mawson Place Hobart
Artworks will be for sale, at the artist's discretion.
Selected artworks will be used as promotional material for MI Fellowship.

The Holographic Lounge Room Experience is pleased to collaborate with Interweave Arts and Streets Alive to invite members of community to participate in an exhibition of images responding to the theme 'Mental Health Begins With Me'.  
Titled 'I Am We' the exhibition will be projected nightly on one of Launceston's multi-storey CBD buildings during Mental Health Week

Campbell Town Community BBQ - Mental Health Begins with Me.
The State-wide consumer organisation Flourish invites you to be a part of their Mental health Week event BBQ and encourages you to make a promise to improve you mental health via their promise wall!

West Tamar Council School Holiday Program
As part of the West Tamar Council School Holiday Program,  they are opening the Youth Centre (The Loft) for a range of activities, info sessions regarding a range of Mental Health topics , freebies and creative ways to care for our mental health.  One feature will be the Sea of Hands banner where you can paint your hand on a giant banner and make a promise about looking after your mental health. There will also be the regular activities, food and fun atmosphere that is always have at The Loft.

Circular Head Aboriginal Corporation is encouraging people to be creative and explore the idea of 'Mental Health Begins with Me' through photography. Drop into CHaC and pick up your info pack free disposable camera, project ideas and workshop times. The works will be displayed at CHaC Common Room during an afternoon tea on Thursday 8 October. headspace Hobart Film Launch
For Mental Health Week this year the headspace Hobart Youth Reference Group (YRG) are launching their short silent film, 'Making it through the dark'. 
It's going to be an evening of celebration as we share stories and spread a positive mental health message. Joining us in this venture and celebration are:

JENSEN- Live music
OWlKEYME- Dance performance and short film launch
STAY ChatTY- Mitch McPherson as guest speaker.

We won't be going hungry with delicious, gourmet Paella from The Link Youth Health Service and Sammy's Cakes scrumptious cupcakes.

This event is FREE for all ages

Mental Health Carers Tasmania in partnership with
City of Hobart invites you to join with them to celebrate health & wellbeing and recovery, walking from the Regatta Ground to Parliament
House Lawns for free activities, entertainment, food and information.

Meet: The Regatta Ground for an 11am walk to Parliament House Lawns

Featuring:
Social Circus and entertainment from 11.30am at Parliament House Lawns

Activities from 11.30 am - 3 pm

Car parking will be available at the Regatta Ground
(10.30am - 3.30pm)

Road to Recovery wrist bands will be available for walkers.

Bootcamp for the Brain - Anxiety

It’s time to get your life rocking!  Gain a greater understanding about how the unconscious works and why as humans we have this response.  Discover how to manage and change your emotional state so it is benefiting you.  This Boot Camp is ideal if you’d like to reduce stress and anxiety in your life.    
During this Boot Camp you will learn how to apply two Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques which will help you change your anxious state of mind as well as how you respond in different situations.  If you’ve come along to previous Boot Camps these are additional NLP processes which will compliment your previous learnings.

Join musicians Mick Hales and friends in a free “Learn to Play the Ukulele Workshop”.  This free workshop is for senior citizens. No musical experience or know-how is required, and there will be ukuleles available to borrow. Community members with a ukulele are invited and encouraged to join in
