What sparked your interest in accounting?

I love storytelling. However, I found it extremely difficult to convey a company's potential for success (or failure) without losing the audience in a flurry of numbers and formulas. It was not until I took Jose's Strategic Cost Accounting (UGBA 128) class, that I learned how to use accounting as a storytelling method.

What are some common misconceptions about accounting?

The most dangerous misconception is that accounting is just a numbers game; you begin with numbers and you end with numbers. However, accounting can produce more than just facts--it can provide ideas.
