Hi <<First Name>>, Dr. Larrow's October Newsletter is here!

Dr. Larrow's Maternity Leave

A preliminary schedule.

As of October 31st, Dr. Larrow will begin scaling back the number of new patients she takes on for a while. This is so that she can provide for her current patients with her limited time over the next several months. As a result, we are sorry for any inconvenience to those whom you might have recently recommended to Dr. Larrow if she is temporarily unable to see them.

If all goes according to plan, Dr. Larrow will also taper back the number of patients she sees in person come mid December in order to avoid any complications. She will, however, still perform phone follow-ups during this time. This schedule will likely continue for the rest of her pregnancy which has an estimated due date of mid January.

After Dr. Larrow has given birth, we will, more or less, give the office a “closed” status for a little more than a month. If you need to talk to, or see in person, a Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Jaspreet Mundeir, out of Walnut Creek, will be filling that role for Dr. Larrow during this time.

This is very important: Dr. Mundeir does not perform house-calls. So be advised.

All scheduling should still be made by calling our office at 415-912-9934, or emailing me at info@drlarrownd.com. I’ll contact Dr. Mundeir, discuss scheduling and your concerns with her, and then reach out to you with some potential times/days. Not unlike how things are done normally. All prescriptions/refills should still be made through our office during this time.

Rest assured that Dr. Mundeir is a skilled Naturopathic Doctor, and is more than qualified to give you proper treatment. She is a family friend, and we trust her absolutely with your care. If you want to, ahead of time, please visit Dr. Mundeir's website to learn more about her practice. Thank you.

Dr. Larrow's September Blogs

This past month, Dr. Larrow blogged about everything from earwax, Teflon, wild fire smoke, and more.

September 4th - Earwax, And Ear Health - Earwax plays a valuable role in the ear. It is important for keeping the ear canal moist and clean. Tiny hairs in the ear canal move the wax to the outside of the ear carrying with it debris that gets into the ear. Sometimes, wax builds up inside the canal due to diet...

September 11th - The Chemical That Will Not Go Away - ...How are we all exposed to this chemical? Part of it has to do with waste disposable of the chemical. For years DuPont was putting the waste into barrels then dumping the barrels into the oceans...

September 16th - Brain And Memory Health - ...So what are the nutrients that the brain needs? The first one that always comes to mind is fish oil; especially DHA. The brain is made up of fat, and thus the good fats are going to support our brain more completely...

September 23rd - Wild Fires And The Air You Breathe - ...The body tries to prevent particles from getting into the lung. Sometimes we circumvent these processes by breathing through our mouth. We are designed to breath through our nose since there are many hairs there that help to trap things before they can get into the lungs...

September 30th - End Of Life Discussion - ...The average person, or family, puts faith in doctors abilities while not often being ready to let go of loved ones so easily. Suffering lives are extended, to some degree, as a result, but for whose purpose?..

Thanks to everyone for reading. We hope that you like the content that Dr. Larrow blogs about. If you have any questions, or suggestions, about the subjects then please contact us here: info@drlarrownd.com.

Naturopathic Medicine Week Is Here!

Naturopathic Medicine has become a way of life for me. Its philosophy, questioning, and wisdom shapes my daily life, and I cannot remember a way of life before it. I am honored that I get to be a Naturopathic Doctor, and can share the wisdom of this form of medicine with you, my patients.

To that end, this week, October 5th through the 11th, is the third annual Naturopathic Medicine Week. So I would like to share the principles of Naturopathic Medicine with you:
  • First, do no harm (primum non nocere)
  • The healing power of nature (vis medicatrix naturae)
  • Identify and treat the cause(s) (tolle causam)
  • Treat the whole person (tolle totum)
  • Doctor as teacher (docere)
  • Prevention (praevenire)

Everyday as I walked into Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, my alma mater, I would walk under the banners that listed these principles. When I was challenged, questioning, or lost I would sit in the hallway to re-read the banners; this would help ground me in the medicine again. When I see each of you, these principles are some of the first things that run through my head as I am asking you questions about your illness, and, again, they are first in my thoughts as I lay out your treatment plan. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your healthcare team, and may we all celebrate Naturopathic Medicine this week.
