Hi Moms and Dads

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Please remember to apply suncream and send a hat to school for your child.
NO HATS NO PLAY IN THE GARDEN.
The children with no hats will have to only play on the verander next to the sandpit!

We have a fabulous function next Saturday morning, 31st Oct 8.45am-11am. Tour de Fish Hoek!!!
It is one of the favourite events amongst the teachers and children and we are sure that you will love it too. All the children take part. They cycle around a designated track to the applause of all their friends and family. Please make every effort to attend.

We have been made aware that ‘Little Nemos’ is having their Orientation Day on the same day, 31st Oct  at 10am, so we will start with the Angelfish and Starfish classes at 8.45am SHARP! So that we are finished the cycle rally by 9.20am!

We do the Cycle Rally at False Bay College for the safety of their grounds. All the children and parents meet us at False Bay College, 7th Ave, at 8.20am to start at 8.45am.
Cooldrinks, bacon and cheese rolls and some sweets( doughnuts/muffins/ice-creams etc) will be on sale during the morning. We will be needing help to man the food and cooldrink stalls so please have a look and put your name down where you will be able to help on the rosters outside your child’s classroom.
The stalls are positioned around the track so that you will all be able to see the cycle rally. We will stop selling during the rally and begin again when it is finished to be sure you do not miss your child riding!

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR CHILD’S BIKES TO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY MORNING 30th OCT, SO THAT WE CAN HAVE A PRACTICE. WE WILL KEEP THE BIKES IN THE SCHOOL OVERNIGHT AND THEN TRANSPORT THEM TO THE COLLEGE GROUNDS EARLY ON SATURDAY MORNING!

ALSO PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT YOUR CHILD’S BIKE AND CHECK THAT IT IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER SO THAT YOU CAN BRING IN ON FRIDAY MORNING. AND PLEASE LABEL YOUR CHILD’S BIKE CLEARLY WITH THEIR NAME AND SURNAME. THE BIKES CAN BE TAKEN IN THROUGH THE BACK GATE ON FRIDAY MORNING 30th OCT, AND PARKED UNDER THEIR CLASS SIGN. A TEACHER OR ASSISTANT TEACHER WILL BE THERE TO ASSIST YOU.

Angelfish

Theme: Wild Animals
EQ: Coping with unexpected change
Focus: Large motor muscles
Hello
Please remember to check your child’s pocket on a daily basis for any notes or messages.
This is the last week of Wild Animals so we will be ending this week with a Dress up day for the children. Please could you help your children dress up as a ‘Wild Animal’ this Friday 23rd October. You need not go to any expense. Just a home-made mask or colour coordinated clothes would be great.
We have started practicing songs for our Nativity Play which is on Wed 25th Novemeber and we are all very excited to learn our new songs. Some of the children will be saying words. I will send these home next  week. Please encourage your child to practice their words when they get them. I will also be telling them who and what they will be in the play next week.
Tour De Fish Hoek is next Saturday 31st Oct. We have a roster on the classroom door, asking for assistance to man the Doughnut stand. Please fill in your name in one of the slots if you are able to help. Don’t forget to bring your child’s bike on Friday morning and we ask if the Angelfish children can wear their class T-shirts on Saturday.
TIPS FOR PARENTS:
It’s all about large motor muscles this week. Please continue to encourage your children to be active, do some skipping, hopping, galloping and climbing to strengthen their large motor muscles.
Setting up an obstacle course is a fun idea as it encourages them to move on different levels, crawling and standing.
Have a good week.
Elraine and Monica

Penguins

Hello everyone.
I would like to thank everyone for my special Birthday gifts and the cakes. I felt very special.
The children were just as excited to celebrate with me.
This week we will talk about ‘People who help us.’
Our focus is Gross Motor skills.
Some ideas for you to do at home: Walks on the beach and climbing. It’s always fun to make an obstacle course with chairs and the children can climb over or crawl under it. Hopping on 1 leg and balancing!
We will be spending lots of time outside playing with beanbags and balls and doing obstacles courses. We will also be chatting about our position in space. EG climb over, climb under. Sit next to etc.
Please have a look at the roster for the TOUR DE FISH HOEK, on our class door. We need parents to assist with our stand.
Have a Blessed week.
Bonita and Lauren

We have begun practicing for our Christmas plays and the children are so excited, so please encourage them and help them practise the songs. Just a reminder, we are having our cake sale on Friday.
