This week is TeachWeek: a campus-wide celebration of teaching and learning, featuring conversations with Caltech faculty, students, staff, and renown guest presenters. Several external presenters, including Eric Mazur, who will be giving this week's Physics Research Conference, are also providing workshops and consultations.
Fall Gathering: Come out to the North Portico of East Bridge this Thursday, October 22, starting at 4:30pm and bring your families! We will be featuring an autumn menu and activities for the kids.
Last week, David Hsieh, Assistant Professor of Physics, who devises new laser-based instruments in order to identify & understand novel phases of matter, was awarded a Packard Fellowship for Science and Engineering. These fellowships, awarded annually by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, “provide early-career scientists with flexible funding and the freedom to take risks and explore new frontiers in their fields,” according to the foundation.

New Funding Highlights

Call for President's and Director's Fund Pre-Proposals: The PDF program aims to build and strengthen collaborative relationships between campus and JPL investigators by funding research that has long-term impact, and focuses on areas relevant to NASA, space science, and technology. Deadline is December 2, 2015 at 4 PM PST
