Band's birthday concert supports The Dream Factory charity
The Epping Forest Band has held a celebration concert to mark its 80th anniversary.
Among the audience at a packed St John's Church in Epping tonight was Dennis Taylor, 90, who was the band's conductor between 1984 and 1989.
He was invited to cut the celebratory cake.
Also attending the concert were Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing, the Deputy Lieutenant of Essex Michael Chapman, Epping mayor Michael Wright and Epping Forest District Council chairman Liz Webster and The Dream Factory charity founder Avril Mills.
The proceeds of a raffle, which saw numerous prizes donated by local businesses, will go the Heart of Epping appeal and The Dream Factory charity.
The concert also featured an address from president Letitia Berry who congratulated the band on their 80 years' of success and thanked everyone who has supported the band over the years.
The band was conducted by musical director Keith Schroeter.
The Dream Factory founder Avril Mills said: "The band was fabulous. I really enjoyed the concert and was truly honoured to be chosen as their charity."
