Message from the Chair
BCTC Regional Member & Community Fall Luncheon

Thank you to everyone who attended the lunch and sessions in Kelowna on September 27. It was, as always, really good to connect with other presenters, artists and agents, not only to share ‘catch-up’ stories but to find out what it happening in your organizations, communities and region.

The workshop sessions, very ably led by Paul Gravett, were informative and enjoyable. I always find that it is the more intimate discussions, such as those in the group work, that are so valuable to BCTC. It’s a time we can really listen to opinions and ideas of how we can continue to shape the performing arts in BC. I sincerely hope that everyone came away with new ideas to approach sustainability, community, diversity and engagement. The discussions were all lively and the feedback informative and current. I hope you got as much from the sessions as I did. For those who were unable to attend, I hope to see you at Pacific Contact where we will continue discussions and celebrate our 40th year!
Garry Pendergast, Chair, BC Touring Council

Guest Post: Fall Regional Meeting by Paul Gravett, Paul Gravett Consulting
For a long time I have been fascinated by the words that have taken hold in our language in our roles as arts administrators and funders. Words such as diversity, sustainability, engagement, community, collaboration, networking and (a favourite of mine) transformative.
