DROPPED INTO THE WILD CORNER

National Geographic Explorer Sarah Marquis completed her solo traverse of the Kimberley in Western Australia. Beginning on June 6, Sarah made her way across the region over the course of 3 months, living off the land. She survived the harsh conditions of the drought, close calls with saltwater crocodiles, bushfires, and other dangers of the Australian bush. She reached her arrival point on September 6, 2015.

Extract from Sarah's diary:

WHAT DID SURVIVING / LIVING OFF THE LAND, HAS DONE TO ME?

Surviving ripped me apart, destroyed all my self-knowledge and all of my certainty. Surviving  gutted me. Surviving ran like a bull through my soul and played with my body fat. Surviving pushed me a little further and further again in a dark place or sometimes in a incredible enlightening one. Either one of those places I wouldn't have visited naturally. It's only out of these zones of extreme - inconfort - that the "work" is done, experiences learned.

Those experiences are timeless ...
Every humain being must be hungry, to the point of looking for is food
