LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FUN
TO DO
WITH YOUR CHILDREN
ON SATURDAY?
COME TO KIDFEST!

If you have children in your household between the ages of 2 and 10, you may want to attend KidFest, a day of games, song, prizes and more. Here's some information that you may want to know:
>Wichita Montessori School will host a booth! In hopes of enhancing name recognition of our school, and of enrolling more students, we will host an informational booth. We send a huge THANKS! to parents Filena Cox, who created our booth, and to Amber Harrison, who has taken care of arranging the business end of our participation. Both parents have committed to run the booth all day. Stop in to see our fantastic booth, stay for a visit, work the booth for awhile if you want, pass the word about our "hidden gem" to other families in town.
>There will be a star appearance by Jennette McCurdy, who plays Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon show, "iCarly". A "Dora the Explorer" costume character will also be at the event to meet children.
>The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department will be at the event to introduce children to its Child Identification Program, aimed at child safety
>Fun includes an arts & crafts area, a mascot parade, prizes given away by the Wichita school district, a cutest baby photo contest, and stage shows
>KidFest is from 9:00-5:00 on Saturday, at Century II. Tickets are $6 for adults and $2 for children 10 and under.

STUDENT PHOTO RE-TAKES
AND CLASS PICTURES DATE SET
FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21

Because it was rainy on our student photo day, we plan to take class photos on the re-take day. Please send your child to school ready for class photos, which will be done outdoors, weather permitting. Also, if you ordered photos and were unhappy with the results, please send your packet back to school, with an explanation of your complaint, and Susan will happily re-take the photograph for you. Individual re-takes will begin at 9:30 AM.

5TH YEAR ELEMENTARY FAMILIES

are invited to the TIS Middle & Upper School Fall Open House
Sunday, October 18, 3 - 5 pm

The Independent School will host a Fall Open House for prospective 6th - 12th grade families this Sunday. As 5th grade families, we especially invite you to attend this event to learn more about our Middle School, and you are welcome to bring your 5th grader as well.

Sunday's "come and go" event is a perfect first chance for you to learn about our Middle School classes and curriculum, meet Middle School teachers and tour the Middle School and new Media Resource Center. Please let us know you are attending by registering here.

Fall Fiesta Parties are scheduled for Friday, October 30. Elementary will go to Northrock Lanes for some bowling fun--travel by bus, leaving school at 11:30 AM; return to school by 2:30 PM. Then enjoy party treats. If you have a child in Lower Elementary, please consider helping with their Fall Festival Party. Contact Sara Souraty to add your name--thank you!
Primary/Kindergarten will visit Apple Jack's Pumpkin Patch, travel by bus, leaving school by 11:45 AM, returning to school by 2:15 PM.
