2015/16 Webinar Series
The 2015/16 "Webinar Series for Arts Presenting!" is off to a great start! In total there are 20 interactive webinars scheduled this year that cover various aspects of presenting, from programming and contract negotiation to budgeting for shows, sponsorship and strategic planning. Participants will also learn how to find audiences, attract youth and improve your engagement by using social media. Presenting Finance
Join us on Wednesdays November 18th & 25th at 1 pm EST for either an introductory Presenting Finance 101 or an intermediate Presenting Finance 200 session (or both!) with Sharon McMorran, a designated accountant and former head of finance for Centre in the Square in Kitchener Ontario. You will learn about artist and venue contracts, sales and marketing plan and price, copyright, insurance, cashflow and more.
Special Topic: Energy Efficiency in Arts Facilities
Join us on December 2nd for a one-hour webinar presented by ArtsBuild Ontario. This webinar will focus on what energy efficiency changes/strategies and would be relevant to any arts facility interested in learning more about how their building operates in terms of energy consumption and what they can do to save on yearly energy costs. 2015 Blue Sky Day
We had a very productive day at the Blue Sky event in October. Nearly forty members from across Ontario gathered at the Richmond Hill Performing Arts Centre to discuss challenges and opportunities in the presenting field. All those who attended the event: thank you for your excellent work! A very special thank you to Michael Grit and his staff for their hospitality! Ontario Presents’ Blue Sky Day is a once-a-year gathering of members to come together to exchange valuable information on trends, issues, and opportunities and discuss plans for the year ahead.
