The R5million successfully crowdfunded mark has come and gone, now the Thundafund team is gearing up for our next big milestone: SELF SIGN-UP!

Yes, you read right and, yes, we are orange with excitement! What does this mean, though? Well, project creators are able to log in, sign-up and fill-out their own projects submissions, and all we have to do is approve their campaigns! So simple!

But before Self Sign-Up goes live on our site, we are having a workshop to test the system.

So, if you are in the Cape Town area and interested in attending this Self Sign-Up workshop on Tuesday 20 October? Click here

The t-bucks200 are flowing!

Since the launch of our a Creative Economic Development Project with the Department of Arts and Culture, all the campaigns on the bill have been promoting and marketing their innovations, ideas, dance productions and books to cash in on their t-bucks200.

What are t-bucks200? Well, the Department of Arts and Culture match-pledges R200 for every R100 or more reward - for the first 50 pledges - that are purchased from the campaigns that qualify for this project. So cool, we know, and a great way to boost South Africa's creatives and encourage entrepreneurial thinking in the arts and design sectors.

But wait, there's more:

We will be having more workshops, around South Africa, about our Creative Economic Development Project because there are still t-bucks waiting to be pledged and because we know there are still some amazing creative ideas just waiting to be crowdfunded! We have a few venues and dates booked already (checkout the WORKSHOPS section of this newsletter)

Check-out our DAC partnership page and let's spend these t-bucks!

"One of the main goals of the social innovation challenge was to get student ideas ‘market ready’, which is why Upstarts partnered with Thundafund, a crowd-funding platform. This meant that teams could test the market’s appetite for their solutions in real-time, as well as raise funds and awareness to help turn their ideas into a reality."
