Huxham's Cross Farm Celebrates

On Saturday the 20th October 50 people from the community joined us for a farm walk and almost 100 packed out Dartington Village Hall to help celebrate and launch the farm. Matt Harvey got us going with his veg rap from his new musical Swimby. Marina and Bob talked through the plans for the farm, outlined the timeline for the next few years, and introduced great volunteering opportunities at the farm. There was of course, plenty of tea, apple juice from the Apricot Centre and home-made cakes - thank-you to all those who donated cakes, time and helped to serve.

Rhodri Samuels, CEO at Dartington saidThe Apricot Centre at Huxham’s Cross Farm and the Biodynamic Land Trust are great news for Dartington. What Marina is planning goes against the grain of conventional agriculture and fits in perfectly with our focus on experimenting with different farming and business models on the estate. It will provide an exceptional educational resource for the community.’

Martin Large, of the Biodynamic  Land Trust, ' This is a golden chance to help with barn raising for this new Huxham’s Cross Farm.  This is an opportunity to invest in this farm for food security, a forest school, health, well being projects with children,  real family farming and a living, working countryside. You can help this farm  become a beautiful green oasis at the heart of this community.’ For more information about the Huxham's Cross Farm  Share Offer for building barns, connecting services and training facilities see www.biodynamiclandtrust.org.uk
