NETPAC Award Winner!
This years NETPAC award was deliberated on by Richard Sowada, Head of the Films Program for the Australian Centre of the Moving Image, Iranian artist Hossein Valamanesh and scriptwriter and academic Herman Van Eyken. The winner -

"Risk of Acid Rain is a poetic story told with great simplicity and beautiful humour. We really loved the good and strong lead performances. It felt very natural and honest. The subject of loneliness and coming into oneself and ones solitude in Iran was incredibly well handled.

All the films considered were of an extraordinarily high calibre which made the process difficult - and enjoyable. Technically, creatively and cinematically all had finely honed craftsmanship however those in the final running showed great skill and ambition. Unusual stories unusually told. All quite surprising and unexpected."

Risk of Acid Rain is screening in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
We'll be announcing even more hidden treasures and events shortly!
