New GMR Gender Report and advocacy campaign for teachers

Find out more about GMR products and a new campaign set up to celebrate World Teachers Day and the International Day of the Girl Child this October.

Girls continue to draw the short straw

On International Day of the Girl Child, the GMR is launching a new Gender Report co-produced with UNGEI at an event with UNICEF in New York, including a speech by Chelsea Clinton.

The Report shows that fewer than half of countries have achieved gender parity, leaving sixty-two million girls still being denied their right to a basic education.

Call for teacher advocates

On World Teachers Day, UNESCO’S Teacher Taskforce for EFA, the EFA GMR and EI launched a sign up campaign for teachers willing to become advocates for the new sustainable development agenda.

Teachers signing up will receive advocacy toolkits, and country specific information to help with lobbying for education reform in their country.
