#interviewoftheweek IN THE HOUSE OF SUPERNOVA The Supernova project was born in 2002 when Emiliano Nencioni & Giacomo Godi met and after separate and successful careers in their own towns, decided to join and give birth to something global and ambitious. Afterbeach their debut album was released in 2003 & is composed by 12 experimental tracks which range from Chill Out to melodic Techno which went on to become the turning point of their careers establishing them as international artists and touring the world circuit sharing their unique sound with audiences much further than Europe and surrounds. Supernova productions are always characterised by their personal atmosphere. Their powerful grooves, sounds and the original and eclectic style has landed their music on highly established labels such as Lapsus Music, Defected, Noir, Kling Klong, Great Stuff, Tronic, Bla Bla, Stereo Productions, Strictly Rhythm. Easily the biggest news in all things music over the past few weeks has been the rumours of the triumphant return of one of hip hops most prestigious 2 piece outfits Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. This week its been made official with a exclusive video interview courtesy of the Fresh Prince aka Will Smith with BBC radio's Zane Lowe. Smith announced in detail he has been busy in the studio laying down lots of new tunes and also working on Bad Boys 3 plus lots more all things the Fresh Prince. From the opening cut Good Touch exemplifies this is a true game changer for Catz 'N Dogs and is the start of a fifteen-track voyage through experimental sounds as they explore a different approach to electronic music. Although a rewarding listening experience from start to finish, this is an album where each track stands alone for its own musical purpose after the entire listen. Tracks such as Czas Poczeka show their true productions skills while up-tempo rhythmic cuts like Nobody Cares express their diversity. Killing With Kindness is a soul-drenched groover, with its warm chords and atmospherics straddling a subtly clipped garage-like shuffle & one of our favourites but with 14 more to choose from we leave the listening pleasure in your ears! 7/5. MISCHA DANIELS –FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS TO THE MAIN STAGE. In 2002, his first release, ‘Pumping Groover’, paved the way for the slew of housey, speaker-rocking tracks that now fill his discography. Mischa’s very first release on Armin Van Buurens Armada Recordings, ‘So Strong’, was chosen to be the official theme of Dutch dance festival Extrema Outdoor. After that highlight, there was no stopping our favoured Dutchman and everything went uphill fast from there. Mischa’s very own record label launched at Armada Music's HQ in 2005. Fame Recordings has proven to be a huge success, hosting some of the hottest house tracks available and its with open arms VH Bali welcome him to their honoured list of artists to visit their turntables in 2015.
JOHN DIGWEED - LOOK WHO'S JUST LET SLIP THEY ARE COMING BACK TO BALI Its been a long time coming John Digweed's triumphant return to Bali and after a recent stalking session around the internet we have stumbled upon someone's just announced maybe slightly premature he's on his way back. John Digweed's last visit to Bali was back in 2012 at Seminyak's Mint an event which went down in Bali clubbing history and now its the island's most iconic rooftop location that gets their chance to write a piece of the Digweed legacy. Its been a long time coming but finally following last years hyped up impending album reporting that French Electronic duo Xavier and Gaspard aka Justice were in the midst of working on their third studio album , French electro labe boss Pedro Winter of Ed Banger records elaborates further when questioned on upcoming projects for the Ed Banger label celebrating Twelve years as an independent label that the rumours are true and also leaks more infomation on a couple of other favourites from the label have new material coming. #weareexcited
