UPDATING GATHAS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY
Learn why gatha are a uniquely American Shin Buddhist Tradition—and how they came to sound like19th century Christian hymns. Learn how gatha are being updated today here in Hawai`i. Try your hand at updating the lyrics of the classic gatha of your youth. Enjoy a musical moment with fellow practicers and travelers on the Buddhist path.  This seminar is open to the public and everyone is welcome.

CONDUCTED BY BJ SORIANO 
BJ Soriano is a composer and arranger of modern American Buddhist music, and a proud member of Hilo Hongwanji. BJ is also a choir director, ukulele instructor,  music teacher, and workshop leader.
