Network Updates

The AmericaServes Team is committed to keeping key stakeholders apprised of our progress. We’re excited to have kicked off our AmericaServes Community Discussion Tour in San Antonio, Texas; launched the PAServes - Greater Pittsburgh Network; and continued NCServes expansion into the Raleigh/Durham region.

As our third AmericaServes Network goes live, we're benefited by the perspective and findings each community offers. To support the growth and expansion of the AmericaServes model, we'll continue to document our evolving insights. Our latest blog post can be found on our website: What Our Communities Are Teaching Us
  • As of 12 October, there are 1,107 unique veterans, servicemembers, and military families that either self-referred or were referred by Network Providers into the NYServes - NYC Network.
  • As of 12 October, there have been 1,541 unique Vetfiles created to connect veterans, servicemembers, and military families to services, resources, and care for which they are eligible. Currently, the top demands for services include employment (29% of requests), housing (28% of requests), benefits assistance (9% of requests), and legal assistance (9% of requests).
  • The NYServes - NYC Network is planning for its third quarterly In-Progress Review (IPR) on 2 November. During the IPR, our technology partner Unite US will provide an overview of reporting enhancements and our measurement and evaluation team, Metis Associates and gothamCulture will provide a preliminary overview of their findings and research.
  • As of 12 October, there are 210 unique veterans, servicemembers, and military families that either self-referred or were referred by Network Providers into the NCServes-Metrolina Network.
  • As of 12 October, there have been 396 unique Vetfiles created to connect veterans, servicemembers, and military families to services, resources, and care for which they are eligible. Currently, the top demands for services include employment (30% of requests), housing (18% of requests), financial assistance (15% of requests), and healthcare assistance (12% of requests).
  • Our own NCServes - Metrolina Coordination Center Director, Blake Bourne was recently spotlighted by the Charlotte Observer. The article sheds light on Blake's own transition out of military service and the benefit of local supportive services e.g., Charlotte Bridge Home and NCServes. • On 1 October, IVMF, Walmart Foundation, Charlotte Bridge Home, and Unite US kicked off our fourth AmericaServes market in Raleigh/Durham. Benefited by the community leadership and the local strength of the NC Department of Veterans Affairs, we plan to expedite the strategy sessions to have Raleigh/Durham launched in early 2016.
  • We're pleased to announce the soft 'go-live' of  PAServes - Greater Pittsburgh on 1 October. The PAServes - Greater Pittsburgh Coordination Center continues to on-board  additional providers as they get to scale.
  • The Pittsburgh Post Gazette featured the launch of PAServes - Greater Pittsburgh by spotlighting the efficiencies for participating providers and the streamlined access that it will provide local veterans, transitioning servicemembers, and their families. AmericaServes Expansion
  • As we expand from community to community, we continue to refine the products that we use to talk about AmericaServes. Most recently, Unite US developed a video telestration that provides an overview of technology's role in aiding care coordination and navigation.  Check it out: Technology and AmericaServes
  • IVMF, with support from the Walmart Foundation, launched its 11-city tour to socialize AmericaServes in San Antonio, Texas on 30 September. During the session, we convened more than 75 public, private, and nonprofit leaders from the San Antonio metropolitan area. Each provided valuable insight and contributed to an engaging discussion about the strengths and opportunities to improve services and care for veterans, transitioning servicemembers, and their families.
  • As we continue our 11-city community discussions, we ask that you preregister for the cities of interest to you, as well as help us socialize these discussions within your networks. Please preregister via the link below. As the event draws near, we'll ensure you receive a formal invitation as a followup to your preregistration.Preregister for the AmericaServes Community Discussions: AmericaServes Tour
  • Our first planned strategy session in Charleston, South Carolina's low-country was cancelled due to the devastating floods. We're in the process of rescheduling that kick-off; details are forthcoming.
The AmericaServes Community Discussion Team lines up outside the San Antonio Central Library following our plenary session kickoff.
