Montessori Moment

MSBG Teachers Take Professional Development Seriously

On our teacher work day this week. The teachers discussed Chapter Two of Mindset: The New Psychology of Success as well as evaluating types of assessment in Montessori pedagogy.

Faculty are also working on the planning and development of attending the AMS National Conference this March.

If you buy brie, please save the outer box for us to use in lantern making for St. Martin’s Day! We will be having a for St. Martin’s Day lantern-making workshop for parents and children on Oct. 26 3:15-5:00.

Cross Country

On Saturday, the cross country team traveled to Fostoria and competed in an invitational held at the high school.  This beautiful October day didn’t stop the Mustangs from running with determination to get to the finish line.  K-3rd boys and girls ran 1/2 mile and the 4th-6th boys and girls ran 1 mile.  In the K-3rd race, Zack Gross finished 8th overall out of 59 runners in a time of 3:56.  Zack received a medal. Finishing in 13th place overall was Natalie Nietz.  Natalie finished in a time of 4:10.  Our next finisher in 18th place was Brooke Wojciechowski in a time of 4:16.  Other runners included:  Amelia Sigurdson (4:23) and Zoe Richardson (4:25).  

In the 4th-6th grade race, Jackson Krueger finished 5th overall out of 49 runners in a time of 6:52.  Jackson received a medal.  Finishing in 16th place overall was Libby Barnett in a time of 7:38.  Finishing close behind Libby was Hannah Castor.  Hannah finished 18th overall in a time of 7:44.  Our next finisher in 20th place was Silas Nietz.  Silas finished in a time of 7:59.  Other runners included:  Katie Oestreich (8:18), Maddie Cleland (9:23) and Julia Gross (9:34).  All runners received a ribbon.  

The cross country team traveled to Gibsonburg on Tuesday, Oct. 13 for their last race of the season.

2nd-3rd grade girls (1000 meter course)
  • Natalie Nietz - Finished 4th out of 30 in a time of 4:39
  • Brooke Wojciechowski - Finished 7th in a time of 4:45
  • Zoe Richardson - Finished 13th in a time of 5:07
  • Amelia Sigurdson - Finished 14th in a time of 5:08
  • 2nd-3rd grade boys
  • Zack Gross - Finished 7th overall out of 30 in a time of 4:20
  • Bilal Khan - Finished 13th in a time of 4:38
  • 4th-5th grade girls (1.5 mile course)
  • Libby Barnett - Finished 11th overall out of 38 in a time of 11:52
  • Hannah Castor - Finished 14th in a time of 12:02
  • Katie Oestreich - Finished 24th in a time of 13:14
  • Kora Rollins - Finished 28th in a time of 13:51
  • Julia Gross - Finished 35th in a time of 17:00
4th-5th grade boys (1.5 mile course)
  • Jackson Krueger - Finished 3rd overall out of 23 in a time of 10.54.                             Jackson received a trophy.
  • Silas Nietz - Finished 13th in a time of 13:13

6th grade girls (1.5 mile course)

  • Maddie Cleland - Finished 7th out of 7 in a time of 14:04

All participants received a medal.  Congratulations to all runners on the MSBG Cross Country team.  Go Mustangs! Thank you to our coaches for a great season!!

Happy Thoughts to Rachel Nillson. Rachel has decided to resign her position as our media specialist in our library to pursue other opportunities.  Rachel has done a great job in her role, we appreciate everything she has done and will miss her.  Rachel's last day will be 10/21/15.
