Malley team creates refreshed brand and new website for CPC

Leading into a full website rebuild, the communications staff at Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina, MN, was looking for a “brand refresh” to make sure the church’s logo design and color palette would last long into the future. The Malley Design team spent time listening to CPC staff and key leaders to ensure our logo update also communicated relevant messaging for the ministry.


The refreshed CPC logo is simplified to include just the cross shape from previous iterations, and the cross is redesigned to contain the church’s abbreviation—which is how members and attendees most often refer to the ministry internally. 

The new logo also speaks to the connections that form in relationships, and to the leadership’s key messaging that all are welcome, no matter how imperfect or “broken.” The cross symbol of the logo represents ongoing growth and formation as new connections are being made.



Like many organizations, a church's website needs to serve as the effective “front door” that most visitors will go through first … most often before making the decision to step foot in the actual building. When a website becomes too outdated or hard to manage, the site is not answering visitor’s questions—namely, “Will I fit in here?”

When the staff at CPC, found themselves in need of a new "front door," they asked us to help rebuild it. The goals for this comprehensive WordPress build included vivid Kids/Students pages, an effective giving page, clean presentation and easy navigation, and a total design overhaul to make the site fully mobile responsive and on trend. 



The result is a completely reorganized, redesigned and rebuilt website that prominently features great photography, carries the refreshed logo and color palette easily, allows CPC staff to build custom pages with great flexibility, and makes use of visual assets already being produced for other outlets and publications.
