Pickled Lunch Items
Our neighbours have recently expressed how much they LOVE when we have pickled items as a side dish with their lunch.

Friday Breakfast
We have expanded our breakfast program!
On Fridays, we will now be serving coffee & muffins from 9:00 am - 10:00 am.

It's getting cold out, folks, and we are in need of adult-sized winter clothing for our neighbours stuck out in the cold!

Thanksgiving Meal
On Monday, October 12th we welcomed 120 guests for a special Thanksgiving lunch.
A delicious meal of roast turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, turnip and carrots was served with home-made gravy. For dessert apple pies made by the team at Trinity United Church were served with vanilla ice cream.
For the volunteers who came out to work on the holiday, to the Trinity ladies who donated the beautiful pies, and to our guests who joined us, we want to say thank you. Every holiday at the Gathering Place is an extra special day.
Soup's On, 2015 - Healthy Harvest!
The Gathering Place is proud to host Soup's On, 2015 – Healthy Harvest.
Held at the Clarion Resort-Pinewood Park, the annual fundraiser is a showcase of North Bay’s most skilled chefs and restaurants.
The theme of Soup's On, 2015 is ‘local, fresh, and healthy' with Ontario finest produce being used to create delicious soups.
A panel of Celebrity Judges will award one restaurant with ‘Best Soup – 2015’, while all event attendees will vote to decide the ‘People’s Choice’ title.
All proceeds from the event will allow the Gathering Place to continue serving over 35,000 hot meals each year to those in need.

The Gathering Place Garden
1,600 lbs of AMAZING produce was harvested from The Gathering Place Garden this season. All for use in our kitchen!
Thank you to our volunteers and our Garden-Girls Chaylene Grieve - Saunders, Lydia Follis, and Kerri Sawyer for all your hard work.
Giant Tiger & the Gathering Place
From Oct. 5th - 12th, we had the pleasure of being the recipients of $2 cash-register donations at Giant Tiger - North Bay.
With the support of their fantastic customers & staff, $1,800 was raised to fund our Breakfast Program!

We are honoured to be the recipients of a overwhelmingly generous donation from the employees of Zedd Customer Solutions!
The good people at Zedd pick a local charity each month to support through a number of in-house initiatives.

October Birthdays
We had the honor of hosting a Birthday celebration at the Gathering Place this month!
Patrick and Rick, October born, came to the dining room with friends to enjoy some coffee and delicious home-made cupcakes!
'Happy Birthday' was sung throughout the building as we enjoyed the warm company.
