"Changing Ocean Chemistry: From Science to Decision-Making"

Thursday, October 29, 2015 1:00PM (PST)

About the Hangout

Changing ocean chemistry – including ocean acidification and declining oxygen levels – have the potential for profound impacts on marine environments. These issues present shared challenges, and managing for resilient ocean and coastal communities requires cooperation across academic, political, and jurisdictional boundaries. In this Google Hangout, we’ll speak with leading experts in the science-policy landscape working to inform solutions to the threats posed by changing ocean chemistry. Many of these experts will be speaking at the upcoming Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation conference in Portland, Oregon. Don’t miss out!

The Panel was convened in 2013 by the California Ocean Science Trust at the request of the California Ocean Protection Council. With expertise in integrating science with management and decision-making, Ocean Science Trust, in collaboration with the Institute for Natural Resources in Oregon, is serving as the link between the science panel and government decision-makers.
