A Big THANK YOU!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Trunk or Treat event, It was a great success.  From the families who decorated their trunks, church members who baked goodies for the cake walk, volunteers for the face painting, popcorn poppers, cooks, set-up and clean-up crews.  It takes a whole team of people accomplish something like this. First Christian Church you are amazing!
Workday at Vincent Elementary School
Saturday, November 7
8 AM to 12:30 PM

Join us on Saturday, November 7 as we partner with parents, teachers, and administrators from Vincent Elementary School to begin landscaping the school courtyard (pictures below). There are several projects for us to work on, including removing some existing plants and shrubs, weeding, possibly removing pea gravel as well as replanting and planning for future projects. Lunch at VES is included and childcare is provided (on the VES playground) if needed.

Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty.  Bring shovels, rakes, and other tools you think might be helpful.

This is a great opportunity to invite a friend!

Come make a difference in the lives of some of God's precious children.  Click here to sign up now for this amazing opportunity to serve our community.

We are also in need of people who are especially handy or skilled in landscaping to serve as work team leaders.  If this sounds like you, click here to email Troy Tatum to volunteer to lead a work team.

What If?
New Sermon Series

What if we put our faith in action?
What if we let God lead the way?

This Sunday we conclude three weeks of  exploring together the endless possibilities God has in store for us when we walk in faith.  Along with these messages from Rev. Troy Tatum, we will hear lay leaders from our church and our community talk about the impact and the potential of our mission and ministries.  We will also have the opportunity to prayerfully consider our financial stewardship and make our commitments to support what God is doing in, with, and through First Christian Church.

Click here to listen to last Sunday's sermon.

MEN'S TENNIS FELLOWSHIP
Several men at FCCBH are interested in starting a group which would play twice a month on soft courts at Brook Highland Racquet Club.  This group will mainly focus on fun and fellowship not athletic competition.  Some guys interested have not played in years, but would like to get out and hit a few balls. Some us us who play regular are not very good, but would enjoy the fellowship.

We will be surveying the best days and times for those interested.  For more information contact Fletcher Hamilton at 981-2757.
BLESSING BOXES
THE H.O.P.E

Being made right with God by his grace, we could have the hope of receiving the life that never ends.
(Titus 3:7-NCV)

Eucharisteo, thanksgiving, envelops the Greek words for grace, charis & joy, chara.  Does this not offer a way into the fullest life?

Grace, thanksgiving & joy. Eucharisteo, the Greek word…that has meaning for life.  November is the month when we think more of expressing gratitude. We gather with friends and family to give thanks. What if we sent a note of thanks to our civil servants who protect us daily, or baked some cookies? Best of all, add these servants to your prayer list; and lift them up to God daily. Count your blessings this Thanksgiving.

H:-Heavenly
O:-Omnipotent
P:-Powerful
E:-Everlasting Savior

Hope for each of us,
Charles & Peggy Daniels
