November 2015

George Welch and Stewart Hardy

Tues 10th Nov, 7.30pm
Cramlington Folk Club

Following the great gigs we have had recently, firstly at the 'Songs of Terry Conway' concert at the Queen's Hall, Hexham in September and secondly at the Davy Lamp Folk Club in October, George and I are venturing out again, this time to the friendly Cramlington Folk Club. George has been on top form and has had the audience in tears (in a good way). We also hope that they enjoyed our music! Join us for more of the same.

Tyneside Fiddle Alliance Annual Concert

Thurs 19th Nov, 7.30pm
St. Mary's Heritage Centre, Gateshead

This community based group, which is led by members of Bottle Bank Band, is having their annual concert in St Mary's Heritage Centre, where our meetings are held twice a month throughout the year. Members of the Fiddle Alliance will be playing a selection of their favourite music and will be joined by some great friends - Andy & Margaret Watchorn, and Melissa Whitehead and Andy Watt. We are looking forward to a fantastic night of music from Tyneside, Northumberland and beyond. You can purchase your tickets at the bargain price of just £5 from gateshead.gov.uk/whatson.

Bottle Bank Band
@ Scots Fiddle Festival

Fri 20th Nov, 7.30pm

Another exciting opportunity for Bottle Bank Band to perform, this time as part of the Scots Fiddle Festival at Queen's Hall in Edinburgh. We will be performing some of our favourite sets, sharing the Friday night billing with the fabulous Danish band, Habedekuk.

Sat 21st Nov, 12pm and 2pm

Both Sophy and I will also be leading workshops on the Saturday. Sophy (12pm) will be working as part of the Youth programme, and at 2pm I will be running a beginners' workshop on tunes from Tyneside and Northumberland.

Sun Assembly workshop

31st Oct - 1st Nov

I am looking forward to travelling to York for the weekend to work with Sun Assembly and friends. We will be looking at, among other things, arrangement techniques and ensemble playing. A lovely to chance to work with a small, focussed group.
