It's almost time for LCM's annual fundraiser, the Dasher Dinner! This year we will be celebrating the ministry and contributions of our Clemson colleague Pastor Chris Heavner (23 years of service to LCM!). The dinner will be held on Friday November 6th  at the Sonoco Pavilion at the Darla Moore School of Business – USC campus at 6pm. New this year, we've got a silent auction with some really great items up for bid. Tickets are $55 or $400 for a table of 8. Please consider joining us for this special 10th Anniversary Dasher Dinner or you are unable to attend but would like to make a contribution either monetary or Silent Auction item to support this ministry  that serves Midlands Tech, Columbia College and USC students! Contact Wendy McKenzie (803-603-6145 or wendy.mckenzie@sc.edu) to make reservations today.

Scheduling Note!

Attention FAITH Friends Pairings:

LS Flood Relief Efforts

Our SC Synod has established a fund to expedite direct resources for those in our Midlands area and the state.   Financial donations may be given through our congregation - make payable to “Living Springs” and mark “flood relief.”

Faith Formation Focus in November:

David

Each month we will learn about a new person in the Bible and how that person can teach us how to be a better disciple in today's world.

Our focus this month is on David as a boy, David as a leader of an army against Goliath, as a psalmist and harp player, and upon the Lord’s covenant to David and to God’s people.

We encourage all ministry teams and groups to focus on the passages relating to David for your November devotions.
Would you like to assist in teaching our young people on Sunday mornings?  Please contact Leslie Bloss (lbloss3306@hotmail.com) or Lexanne Graves (Lexanne@livingspringscolumbia.org) if you are interested.

Lessons for Sunday, November 1

First Reading: Isaiah 25:6-9

Isaiah sees a vision of the end of days, when the Lord will gather all God’s people on God’s holy mountain and will prepare for them a rich feast. At this banquet the Lord will wipe the tears from all eyes. And there will be no more sorrow, for God will destroy death itself.

Psalm (ELW): Psalm 24

They shall receive blessing from the God of their salvation. (Ps. 24:5)

Second Reading: Revelation 21:1-6a

Here is a vision of the new heaven and new earth in which God resides fully with God’s people so that mourning, despair, and pain have been eradicated. These renewing words from the God who spans all of time are trustworthy and true.

Gospel: John 8:11:32-44

Through the raising of Lazarus, Jesus offers the world a vision of the life to come, when death and weeping will be no more.
