Veterans & PTSD
We all probably know someone who was has served in our military. Did you know that person might have PTSD? What is PTSD? PTSD stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, someone who has been in or witnessed any type of traumatic situation can develop this stress disorder. It can develop from abuse or being in a war zone; no matter it's cause of development, this disorder is very serious and can interrupt victims daily way of life. Through working in the cannabis industry, we have come to meet quite a few individuals who have told us of their positive success and treatment of their PTSD with cannabis. There are several groups that advocate for Veterans and their medicinal cannabis use, in addition, to donating cannabis to veteran patients in need. They are: Veterans for Medical Cannabis Access; GrowForVets; Weed For Warriors Project and the Veterans for Compassionate Care

Our New Chemist & Lab Director
Dr. Eric Miller’s multidisciplinary approach to bioanalytics facilitated a seamless transition from seaweed to terrestrial weed. Formally trained as a seaweed scientist and bioengineer, Eric has since focused his research on Cannabis analytics. Eric earned a B.S. in Bioengineering from Arizona State University and followed up with an M.A. in Chemistry from San Diego State University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of California, San Diego. He has a growing list of publications which reflects his commitment to bioanalytical research and development. Particularly, Eric is interested in the standardization of cannabinoid, microbial, fungal, residual solvent, and pesticide analytics. Rigorous and accurate testing of these complex plant, bacterial, fungal matrices are imperative for quantitative analysis. Eric's goal is to provide a safe and alternative medicine for those whom can benefit from Cannabis therapy.

Q & A With Jesse Robertson, Founder & COO of Kaneh Co
Q: Tell us a little bit about the company, like when it launched and your overall goal. A:Kaneh Co launched in early September 2015. We employ a trained pastry chef who uses only high end gourmet ingredients for our Kaneh desserts. We have several different dosages, 100 mg, 250 mg, 500 mg and 1000 mg helpings. We are really trying to provide something for everyone.
Q:Where can we find Kaneh Co edibles? A: Right now we are established throughout San Diego county and Orange county. We’re also currently making it into some shops in LA. We eventually will be expanding up into the Bay Area, as well, as Sacramento and hopefully beyond!
Q: What’s the story being the name of the company? A: The word Kaneh means cannabis in Hebrew and this has significance because all the owners of the company are Jewish. The word kaneh- bosm was known as hemp. It was used for everything from clothing to housing. Kaneh is mentioned in the New Testament as an incense and holy anointing oil. We thought it would be a perfect name for our company since our lineage connected.
Q: What kind of ingredients do you use? A: Our all natural ingredients are sourced locally from San Diego, Temecula and Southern California, which makes everything so fresh! We use quality ingredients like Guittard Chocolate and Plugra Butter that can usually be found in the finest restaurants and establishments. We also have a vegan and gluten free line. You have to try it if you like nuts, It’s almost like a power bar and super healthy, of course.
Q: Kaneh Co is a client of PharmLabs, how and why did you use testing services to create your products? A:We wanted to create something people can trust. We must test so we know how strong our product is. We also test at an independent lab as well as PharmLabs, just to ensure everything is on the same page. Our biggest thing is dosing, so testing is very important. We want to be trusted by our patients so we double test everything to do our due diligence to give them what we say.
