Visit an exhibition
An 8-week consultation has been launched to help determine the best location for a railway station at Henbury in Bristol. There are two viable site options to choose from.
The consultation runs from today, Monday 30 November until 5pm on 25 January 2016 to give people plenty of time to comment over Christmas and New Year.
There will be two exhibitions at Henbury Library, Crow Lane, Henbury, BS10 7LZ where members of the project team will be on-hand to answer questions.
Thursday 3 December 2015, 2pm - 7pm Wednesday 9 December 2015, 2pm - 7pm
How to have your say
You can comment by filling in the simple online questionnaire. Go to www.travelwest.info/metrowest to look at the leaflet with details of the suggested station locations. Then click on the link to fill in the questionnaire.
What happens next?
After the consultation closes and we have collected your comments, we will prepare a report with a site recommendation for elected members. The approved site will be subject to further detailed design by Network Rail, alongside the other new stations at Ashley down and North Filton.
We will report back to members with detailed designs and costs during 2017 as part of the Outline Business Case for MetroWest Phase 2.
The new station at Henbury is being designed so that it can be adapted if the network is changed in the future, whichever location is chosen. Opportunities for improved frequency at Yate by extending services to and from Gloucester will also be explored with Gloucester County Council.
