Meet Krista. Krista is a 5^th grader at Laclede Elementary and a proud scholar of Freedom Arts & Education Center. Krista loves to ride her bike, play soccer, and read, particularly books about Black History. At Freedom Arts, Krista’s favorite things to do are read, paint, draw, and sing. She is enrolled in Scholar Sessions and frequently attends Super Scholardays, our Saturday arts and life skills program. She says, “I like that the people at Freedom Arts are patient and take their time to teach us. They don’t give up on us.” Krista has clear goals for herself: graduate high school, go to college, then law school, become a lawyer, and one day buy her own house and keep making art! But in the meantime, “I really want to see Freedom Arts get our own building closer to us so we can see our tutors more often.”
