Friday October 30th, Gallery 101 invites you to attend in sonorous shadow of Nishiyuu: reverberations, a performance by Ayumi Goto, as part of the Owning With the Gaze exhibition: http://eepurl.com/bDdY6T
Beginning at around 12 noon in Chelsea, Québec, Ayumi will run and expect to finish her run and stage an activity on Parliament Hill between 3 and 4 pm.
As a means to pay respectful homage, between Canada Day and Thanksgiving weekend 2013, Ayumi Goto ran in various locations around the country until she had run the same amount of distance made by the Nishiyuu Walkers the winter before during Idle No More. For this performative run, she will retrace their final day from Chelsea, Québec to Parliament Hill, where she will make a meaningful performance gesture.

Vers midi, à Chelsea, Ayumi va commencer à courir pour se rendre au Parlement et y présenter une activité entre 15 h et 16 h.
Afin de leur rendre un hommage respectueux, Ayumi Goto a couru un peu partout au pays entre la fête du Canada et le week-end de l’Action de grâce 2013 jusqu’à ce qu’elle ait parcouru une distance égale à celle parcourue par les marcheurs Nishiyuu l’hiver précédent pendant Idle No More. Pour cette course d’un genre performatif, elle refera le trajet de leur dernière journée, de Chelsea (Québec) à la colline du Parlement, où elle accomplira un geste de performance significatif.
