Twelve Months of Good Luck!

Although the air feels more like June than November, the trees are whispering the truth in the wind...the leaves are falling fast and furious! Our friend Christian has taught us her Scottish family custom to bring good luck throughout the year, based on an old pagan tradition. During the autumn season, you will enjoy a month of good luck for each falling leaf you catch. It sounds quite simple. But the wind is quite devious, and uneven terrain underfoot while one is running full-speed with eyes to the treetops, can make for hilarious attempts. Amy and I take the challenge quite seriously each year, with the goal being a year of good luck for both of us, with loads of laughter and no serious injuries in the process of leaf-catching!. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. I wish you loads of good luck with minimal bumps and bruises.

And what could be better after a leaf-catching session than coming in to hot mulled cider and warm cookies. It always seems to come 'round to food for me! Which brings me to why this email newsletter is coming to you a day early this week. Tomorrow I have the distinct pleasure of preparing a 60th birthday dinner for Amy. The evening will be full of food, frolicking, festivities, flowers, fun, and feasting. And maybe catching our last leaves of the season. Wish us luck!
