Monroe Actors Stage Company presents MASC Theatre Camp Fundraiser

MASC lost their grant for their Summer Children's Theatre Camp! So with the help of Papa John's and you, we are having a fundraising event. MASC wants to continue the camp as the kids learn the audition process, costuming, make-up, character development, they build and paint their set, and do their own tech for the show for the public at the end of camp.

The kids are now coming back and working on the shows during the MASC season. Please share the coupon code with work and family and help us keep the kids off the street and develop a life long love of theatre. Thank you for your support!

Alton Little Theater presents Miracle on South Division Street

Alton Little Theater will present MIRACLE ON SOUTH DIVISION STREET ( The Holiday Version) by Tom Dudzick, December 10th through the 20th at the ALT Showplace. The showcase production features four directors taking on the roles of a family celebrating faith and family traditions in ways both heartfelt and hilarious! Diana Enloe, Gail Drillinger, Jeff Harrison and Donna Minard play the matriarch and adult children of the Nowak family amidst the urban rubble of Buffalo's ( NY) East Side. The Production is directed by Lee Cox who hopes that the 95-minute tale will become a popular holiday outing this season. Young pianists Sydney Shansey and Sydney Schwegel will be providing pre-show music for an hour before curtain and theater-lovers can enjoy libations and Christmas cookies in the Dorothy Colonius " Winter Wonderful" foyer. The Theater is even hosting its own Preview Party on December 9th, with full Appetizer buffet, desserts and music at 6:30pm before a performance of the show. Tickets for the Preview party are $22 ( but ALT Season Ticket holders only pay $10); Tickets for the eight other performances of  " MIRACLE" are $17 for Adults and $10 for students under 18 . The ALT Box Office is open Tuesday - Friday from 10am to 2pm and Tickets are available on-line at ( www.altonlittletheater.org). Photos and interviews can be arranged through the director at (462-4515).

The Production of MIRACLE ON SOUTH DIVISION came about from an e-mail correspondence from the playwright ( who was previously featured in the OVER THE TAVERN ( Pazinski family trilogy). Dudzick wrote to Director, Lee Cox, and asked that she take a look at two of his new works and she immediately fell in love with a story inspired by "true" events in  Dudzick's hometown of Buffalo ( which is akin to the Alton community). The Nowak family gathers in their shabby old homestead to commemorate the family "miracle". According to legend, on Christmas Eve in 1942 the Blessed Mother herself appeared to Grandpa in the family barbershop. Now Clara ( Diana Enloe), the family matriarch, happily tends the family heirloom, a 17-foot memorial shrine to the Virgin Mary which adjoins the house. As the play develops, daughter Ruth ( Donna Minard) divulges her plan to " go public" with the miracle by creating a one-woman Christmas Show about the sacred event. But during the course of the family meeting, the entire family's faith is shaken to the very core when a deathbed confession causes the family legend to unravel. The enduring love of family prevails with a message of tolerance and embracing life surprises.

MIRACLE ON SOUTH DIVISION STREET is a delightful NEW Christmas Show that offers an entertaining possibility for December. Tickets are on sale NOW.
