Against all odds

BLR first graduates
In these weeks leading up to our home assignment, we've been busy teaching lay church leaders at Bishop Lee college. We were very blessed to take part in the first ever Bishop Lee graduation ceremony for this 2-year program last Sunday.

It was a joyous day, and we're thankful for the 52 graduating students who are now better equipped to do the work that God has called them to. To us, this was a significant moment "against all odds", because the college has run with so little resources that we never thought it would have been possible to bring such a large class through 2 years of curriculum! Praise the Lord!

Favor

Favor of God training
We had the great opportunity to travel with Rev. Patrick to Gulu town to facilitate 2 days of introductory training in CHE for a group of pastors being trained by Favor of God Ministries in how to lead portable Bible schools in deeply rural areas. Favor of God wants the pastors to be versed in community health issues so they can provide holistic support to the communities - doing trauma counselling and health work in the mornings, and Bible school trainings in the afternoons for 2 months in each village where they move.
We are Mike & Marianne Botting, missionaries serving with Emmanuel International in Pader, Northern Uganda. Thank you for following our updates!
