Hello Friends,  
I wanted to take a moment during this busy time of year to wish you all a
very, merry holiday season and to extend to you a sincere thank you for all
your caring and support for my work over the years.

This year has been especially challenging and busy for me with a few last
minute surprises that I woud like to share with you.
Along with an invitation to an open studio event shared with 3 artists in Leyden, 
I have some exciting show plans to tell you about for the holiday season and
another show in the works for the beginning of 2016! 

 

Glen Road Open Studio Event
December 5th, 10 to 4 p.m. & December 6th, 10 to 3 p.m.
 
Three Leyden artists have banded together to present
to you a very special weekend event for the holiday season. 
We are pleased to share with you a wide range of masterful
original art, prints, pottery, textile, jewerly, craft and much more that
we guarantee will excite you and fill your holiday celebrations
with joy and delight!
I will be opening my studio to the public for the first time this year, just in time for the holidays.  Along with my original art, I have some very special treats for you!  Premiering at this event and for the first time ever, I am so pleased to offer framed, archival, color giclee prints of my paintings in a very affordable size.  I will also have a small selection of reproductions on aluminum, and some one of a kind framed archival prints with hand painted gold leaf accents.  If I don't have what you prefer in stock
I am happy to take special orders.

Designer and Author Kristin Nicholas will offer knitwear & stitchery books, colorful handmade one-of-a-kind pottery, oil paintings, hand painted lampshades and much more. She welcomes you to a weekend of holiday shopping at her colorful farmhouse which was just featured in Yankee Magazine!

Deborah Garner Collection

Deborah has been collecting and dealing in ethnographic art from around the world for 35 years.  She will be setting up shop for the weekend at Kristin's.


She offers unique handwoven tribal textiles, folkloric “Art to Wear” pieces, and a colorful selection of natural fiber scarves and shawls.  Along with vintage tribal jewelry and original designs in antique beads, natural gemstones with unique multi-cultural components.

Where else can you find my work over the Holidays?
 
Gallery in the Woods, 145 Main St. Brattleboro, VT  is currently showing ZENITH a collection of 14 paintings that were created this year.

The Elusie Gallery, 43 Main St., Easthampton, MA will be showing a collection of my archival, framed prints. Each is a one of a kind rendition of a selected original painting in the 2015 Cosmic Bloom series and have hand painted accents in gold.
What is next?

I have confirmed a large show at the Lederle Graduate Research Center,
Science and Engineering Library at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. 
Official dates are not in place yet but the show will run Feb- April, 2016.  

 
 
Directions to 31 & 40 Glen Rd. Leyden, MA
 
From Boston and Points East
Take Route 2 West out of Cambridge. Travel across the Connecticut River. At Gill/Erving you will cross a large bridge called the French King Bridge.

Take the exit labeled Greenfield Route 5/10 which is the second Greenfield exit. At bottom of ramp, take a left onto Route 5/10 South.

Travel 0.3 miles until the first stop light, then take a right onto Silver Street. There is an Auto Zone on the right at the intersection. Travel to the end of Silver Street, approximately 1 mile, then take a right onto Leyden Road.

Continue on Leyden Road, staying to the left at the fork.
The sign says Leyden with an arrow.


After 5.1 miles you will see a long row of mailboxes on the right and a large oak tree with a blue saw blade that says Herron’s Blueberries. Take the immediate right onto South Schoolhouse Road. The road quickly becomes a dirt road. Continue to the end of the road where there will be a white ranch house directly in front of you.

Take a right, onto Glen Rd.  My studio at 40 Glen Rd will be on the right and Kristin's Leyden Glen Farm, 31 Glen Rd. is on the left.

 

Alternate Directions from Boston and Points East
Take the Mass Pike Route 90 out of Boston, then take 91 North at Springfield, then follow the From the South directions below.

From the South
Take Route 91 North from New York City, Hartford or Northampton.

Take the exit labeled Greenfield MA Exit #26 which is the first Greenfield exit. At bottom of ramp, exit the rotary at right towards Greenfield.

Travel along Route 2A, passing Dunkin' Donuts on the right, and go straight through the light. Travel along this road which becomes Main Street.


Take a left onto Conway Street,  Travel north for about 5.5 miles, passing a dairy farm on right. When the road forks, take the left fork. The road is now called Leyden Road. Go uphill, and the road becomes Greenfield Road, although there are no street signs to identify this.

After the plateau, you will see a long row of mailboxes on the right and a large oak tree with a blue saw blade that says Herron’s Blueberries. Take the immediate right onto South Schoolhouse Road at the mailboxes. The road quickly becomes a dirt road. Continue to the end of the road where there will be a white ranch house directly in front of you.


Take a right, onto Glen Rd. My studio at 40 Glen Rd will be on the right and Kristin's Leyden Glen Farm, 31 Glen Rd. is on the left.
 

From the North
Take the last exit (No. 1) off of Route I-91 in Vermont heading south, and head south on Route 5 towards Guilford, VT.

Take a right onto Guilford Center Road, just after the Guilford Country Store.

Take a left onto Weatherhead Hollow Road,
about about 1.75 miles from Route 5.   You will pass Franklin Farm
(cows and big barns) on the right.

Continue into Massachusetts. You will see the Pearl Rhodes Elementary School on the left. At the stop sign, continue straight on Greenfield Road.

About 1.3 miles from the elementary school you will see a long row of mailboxes on the left and a large oak tree with a blue saw blade that says Herron’s Blueberries. Take the immediate left onto South Schoolhouse Road just before the mailboxes. The road quickly becomes a dirt road. Continue to the end of the road where there will be a white ranch house directly in front of you.


Take a right, onto Glen Rd. My studio at 40 Glen Rd will be on the right and Kristin's Leyden Glen Farm, 31 Glen Rd. is on the left.
