FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS WEEK
1. Citizens Parkway Renovations Underway
It's now only one month 'til our Grand Opening and Open House at Citizens Parkway! The renovations continue to impress, with tours frequently amazed at the amount of space in our new digs. The possibilities to change and improve the Work-Ordered Day, and to serve that many more members of the San Antonio community, are real. And if things go according to plan, we might even move over to the new space by Thanksgiving! Stay tuned.
2. Learning from Denver
LISA ADAMS: The trip to Denver was an experience of a life time. I learned a lot of great things and had a great opportunity to connect with a lot of different people from different club houses around the world. I can't wait to take what I have learned and implement it into our clubhouse and see how we can change things up.
3. Employment Update
Our Employment Team, led by Kyler and Lisa, returned recently from the International Seminar in Denver. They shared our efforts in bringing technology into the work of the Clubhouse Workforce Committee. Look forward to additional presentations this week on how the Employment Team is changing the way Clubhouses look at technology.
4. Las Palmas Update
As ever, our Las Palmas outpost is growing, working, and reaching out to the West Side community. Just last Thursday, SA Clubhouse hosted Vilma Pinto from the Christian Hope Resource Center for a workshop on financial literacy to great success. Look for more events like these to engage our West Side Clubhouse to the Las Palmas neighborhood and potential members in the area.
5. Social Events
This Tuesday, the SA Clubhouse is again at Embassy Oaks for Eva's Heroes presentation of Goosebumps, a feature length adaptation of the classic scary show so dear to the children of the '90s. The movie starts at 6:00 PM. We'll leave the Clubhouse by 5:15 PM, so don't be late!
Saturday, November 7, the Clubhouse is taking a trip down to HemisFair Park and the Tower of the Americas! Join us for a fun-filled day in the Park, a look at the new public artwork and green spaces, and a trip to the top of the Tower. Truly incomparable vistas await, only $11.00!
