Three questions to
Hanna Lindberg
How did you get the idea for STHLM Confidential?
I was doing research for a TV documentary about the glamor industry when it struck me that this world itseslf was like a thriller. Full of intrigue, power games and rumors. When I worked on the script for the documentary the characters started to live their own lives in my head and I realized that I could tell this story more freely and better in a suspense novel than in a documentary.
Tell us a bit about your heroes, Solveig and Lennie
Solveig Berg is chasing the big scoop that will give her revenge in life. She is ruthless and goes far, sometimes too far, in her research. But inside, she carries a great emptiness since her mother abandoned her when she was a child. She might seem self-absorbed, but deep down Solveig is just very lonely.
Lennie Lee left his home town early to seek his fortune in Stockholm. He was dedicated to create something great, to be remembered by and to leave footprints. He runs his own magazine, is surrounded by Stockholm's most beautiful women, but he never received the recognition he deserves. He longs for something else - something that is genuine and real.
What will come next?
The next book is set in Stockholm's fine dining world – where the hunt for a star in a certain restaurant guide overshadows everything else. A couple of years has passed since the first book and for the first time in her life, Solveig is happy with her life. The experienced editor Vanja Stridh has taken her under her wings and together they scrutinize the dirt behind the luxury restaurants well polished facades. They are on to something big when the most terrible happens. In the midst of the prestigious Gold Chef Gala Vanja is gunned down in front of Solveig. Someone has decided to silence them.
