Briarwood Advent retreat. Games, songs, and s-mores. Fourth, fifth and sixth graders are invited to attend the Advent Retreat at Briarwood Retreat Center on December 5-6. Enjoy four delicious meals, sleep in one of the great cabins, and learn all about Advent traditions with the Briarwood program staff. Cost is $60 per student ($30 for second student from the same family). Join us around a roaring campfire and enjoy a weekend away with your church friends. Congregational meeting. There will be a brief congregational meeting on Sunday, November 15, immediately following the worship service. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss updates on renovations including the need for sanctuary roof repairs.

Construction update. Renovations on the Worship Center have begun with an anticipated completion date of November 20. Work on the Education Building should finish within the next week allowing for the beginning of move-in and set-up. The Sunday School team is planning for a Grand Opening on Sunday, December 6.

Faith and Film. On Sunday, November 15, 4:00-7:30 p.m., explore the meaning of forgiveness through the award-winning Norwegian film Troubled Water (subtitled). Come to the home of Marjorie Suchocki where we will watch the film (120 minutes), share a soup supper and discuss. Surely we will resolve the issues together, won't we? MCCC senior visits. This November Abiding Grace is partnering with Mid Cities Care Corps to help bring some Thanksgiving cheer to seniors in the area! To do this, Erin Perkins and Taylor Skoglund invite everyone to stick around after church on Sunday, November 15, to make a craft to deliver to a senior neighbor and to visit with them. If you’re feeling adventurous, you’re also invited to bring a pie to share with whomever you visit. To participate please email Taylor by Sunday, November 8.

The Grapevine Veterans Day Parade will be held this Saturday, November 7, at 10:00 a.m. Traveling down Main Street, groups will unite in a show of respect and remembrance for our veterans. Veterans are invited to ride in pickup trucks: uniforms are optional but waving and smiling are mandatory. If you have questions please see member Brian Michel.
