Zoofari Visit

Our annual Zoofari visit is coming up on November 16th! This is an incredible program that works to educate children on caring for animals and the environment by allowing them the opportunity to interact with exotic animals in a safe and supervised setting. To read more about their program you can visit their website: http://zoofarianimals.com

Please register your child to participate through this link. All registrations must be received by 11/13 and are nonrefundable.

Flood Relief Drive

Ms. Kaleigh's friend and roommate is a 5th grade teacher in Del Valle and several families at her school, including one of her very own students, lost their homes and all of their belongings in this weekend's flood. If you wish to help these families, we will be collecting donated items at the front of the school and they will be delivered directly to affected families on Monday, November 9th. Items that are desperately needed are:

- Children's clothing (all sizes - can be gently used)
- Shoes (all sizes - can be gently used)
- Hygiene/toiletry items
- Bedding (new)
- Towels (new)
- Miscellaneous - one idea would be gently used toys so families can start to rebuild their lives.

Thank You!

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make our Fall Fest a very special, extra spooky experience for the kiddos!

We appreciate all those who helped contribute to the success of our event--from our Family Link members who helped get the word out, parents who contributed to classroom activities and donated all sizes and shapes of pumpkins, others who lent pop-up tents and helped set up the haunted maze, and all who attended the event! We couldn't have done it without any one of you!

A special thanks goes out to Kellie and Chris Carson, who provided and ran the hay ride, and to Dominique Douglas, who donated several large bales of hay for our fall photo station.

Feast of Gratitude

Lupine Lane will be hosting our annual Feast of Gratitude on the Friday before Thanksgiving break (11/20). All parents are encouraged to attend and enjoy a tasty meal with the Lupine Lane community! Mr. Carl will be cooking the turkeys and the children will be helping to prepare stuffing for everyone. We ask parents to contribute a side dish that is a special family tradition. Teachers will have sign up sheets for these dishes posted on the class Shutterfly site to avoid repeats. In order to accommodate family members who wish to attend and eat lunch with their child, we will have four dining shifts, listed below. Each class will have a short performance prepared for parents, so please arrive 15 minutes early for the show. Upon arrival, you can bring your prepared dish to the Great Room then go directly to your child's classroom.

Ducklings & Hummingbirds
10:45-11:15 (Arrive at 10:30)
Penguins & Parrots
11:30-12:00 (Arrive at 11:15)
Peacocks & Owls
12:15-12:45 (Arrive at 12:00)
Flamingos
1:00-1:30 (Arrive at 12:45)

Illness Policy

With all the crazy weather everyone seems to be extra susceptible to germs floating around. We are taking extra precautions to clean and sanitize, but we ask that everyone respect our illness policy. As per our Family Handbook we do not admit students who have had an oral temperature of 100.4 degrees or other symptoms of illness (diarrhea or vomiting) within the last 24 hours. Students must have been fever and symptom free for 24 hours without medicine before returning to school. We also ask that if your child has colored nasal discharge (an indication of infection) or unusual lethargy that you keep them home to let them rest and monitor them. Teachers will notify families of cases of communicable illnesses so that you can watch for symptoms in your own child.

Extra Clothes

Please remember to trade out your child's extra change of clothing so that they have warm clothes to wear in the event of an accident. Classes will still be going outside as it gets colder, so please also send your child with a jacket (even if they don't want to wear one in the morning).
