As I write this, we are under the influence of a Scorpio Sun and a Taurus (Super) Full Moon. I have just celebrated the anniversary of my rebirth. Southern California is being buffeted by a combination of high tides and high surf, and the Devil Winds have kicked up. We are rapidly closing in on Samhain (observed) and Astrological Samhain soon after, which means that the veil between our usual reality and an expanded reality is so very thin.
I did a group channeling the other night, and one of the things SpiderWoman said was that, when the veil begins to thicken again, things will not be the way we expect them to be.
It feels darker than usual this year. I am being pulled into my cave. Mediation, introspection, and sacrifice are on the docket. I recently took over the monthly community meditation event at The Crystal Matrix, along with Ora Nance-Woodley. On the 11th, I will begin offering a weekly guided meditation (something I haven't done since 2002) at La Luna: A Space for Goddesses. I'll bringing Healing the Ancestral Lineage back on the 4th. The monthly Sound Baths have returned to Kenneally Acupuncture & Healing Light Resource Center, now in their new location. Celina Perez of Woodlands Kitchen and I will be presenting Gluten Free Cooking for the Holidays, also at the Healing Light Resource Center. I've been doing informal labyrinth walks midday on Tuesday in north Malibu, and expect that to continue. Keep an eye out, in the next few days, for a video post of a guided meditation to take you into the shadows.
Looking forward into the new year, you can expect me at both the Conference on Current Pagan Studies and Pantheacon. I will not, however, be developing any new classes for 2016, as my focus will be on writing a new book, building a Shamanic Labyrinth near the Salton Sea (see sidebar), and creating a retreat center on Maui. That doesn't mean I won't be teaching - I have a very rich catalog of courses to pull from, some of which I have not offered in quite some time.

Use this time wisely. Examine your inner depths. Make friends with those aspects of yourself you've been pushing away. Discard the old beliefs that have been weighing you down and keeping you stuck in the past. Simplify your life so there's ample breathing room, time to allow for the stillness. This is not the time to "power through." Rest. Be quiet. Synchronize your rhythms with the slowed heartbeat of Nature. Breathe.
In that, you will find your light in the darkness, for you are the Light of this World.
