PLANETARY

‘Planetary’ Will Make You Stop And Think About Your Place In The Universe — Huffington Post

Planetary is a provocative and breathtaking wakeup call – a cross-continental, cinematic journey. The film takes us from one of the truly extraordinary events of our civilization, which was space travel, and looks at how this gave us a totally different perspective on the Earth. It is a humbling reminder of the near-incalculable breadth of our impact on the earth, intellectually challenges us to reconsider our relationship with our home and the urgency to shift our perspective – to remember that we are PLANETARY. A simple idea perhaps, but one that may just be revolutionary enough to alter our current course and ensure our future.

HAIDA GWAII: ON THE EDGE OF THE WORLD

This lovely documentary portrays the last sublime place in Canada as an ideal community to which Canadians should aspire - Cinemablographer

“Maybe we’re not totally screwed” reads the cut line on the poster – referring to the widespread pessimism many thinking people feel about the plight of the natural world. Haida Gwaii: On the Edge of the World, set on the pristine Haida Gwaii archipelago, shows how the distinct world view of an over 14,000 year old society is co-mingling with the values of an influx of progressive, modern urbanites to create an amazing example of how the world could be.
An irreverent, intimate, funny, beautiful, occasionally troubling but always intriguing human story of Canada’s world renowned archipelago - Haida Gwaii – where the 1st Nations Haida majority and their non-native neighbours are winning key battles in the campaign to beat back the dire global threats facing us all. And in the process it’s possible they’re creating a path forward that the rest of us can all follow.

THE RIDER & THE WOLF

The Rider and the Wolf is a feature documentary about the life and mysterious disappearance of Mountain Bike Hall of Fame cyclist Mike Rust. He helped form the sport of mountain biking in the USA with the stoke and technical innovations he put into action in the mountain towns of Crested Butte and Salida. While Gary Fisher was fostering the development of mountain biking in California, a hardscrabble group of mountain folk in Crested Butte, Colorado was starting their own fat tire revolution. Short chain stays, radical frame geometry, SPD clips, multi-tools, Shortys & 69ers, cross country racing, off-road touring; Mike Rust was the inspiration, innovator and inventor behind much we mountain bikers and bikepackers hold dear. He went missing without a trace in 2009 in remote part of Colorado. The mystery remains.
