This training was arranged by GWP East Africa and Nile IWRM Net in Kampala, Uganda from 28th September to 2nd October 2015. The purpose of the training was to provide participants with background information on climate change and the need for adaptation as well as practical, step-by-step guidance on how governments, national and local actors can mainstream climate change adaptation into national and sector development planning as part of broader mainstreaming efforts. The training course on Climate Change Resilience: Access to Water Supply and Sanitation was arranged by WA-Net from 5th to 9th October, 2015 at the Conference hall of Water Suite Kaduna, Nigeria. The course provided the participants with a broad view of the climate change processes and impacts. The workshop also covered adoption and evaluation of immediate, short and long range environmen­tal, economical and institutional measures, in order to improve decision-making for meeting the challenges of climate change on water supply and sanitation.

• Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (MELP) revamped – global: Experiences and developments over the past years, and how the changes in the Cap-Net monitoring tools have improved response rates and reporting.
• Standardization of Monitoring and Evaluation – AWARENET – regional: AWARENET issues standard questions via survey monkey to evaluate courses and their impacts immediately and 10 months later, capturing impacts on governance.
• Improvements and challenges: Shared experiences and tangible improvements as well as challenges to monitoring something like capacity development which goes beyond the number of people trained, but where the spillover effect which has significant impact remains a challenge.
