Dear Partners, Associates and friends of GRLI,

It is my pleasure to announce that GRLI's annual partner, member and associate gathering next year will be hosted by Kemmy Business School (KBS) at University of Limerick from 17 to 19 October 2016.

The programme of events planned includes our annual “All Gathering Momentum” meeting, project workshops, a collaboratory on catalysing Globally Responsible Leadership, and a reflective learning journey focused on social and environmental responsibility. Later in the week, there is the option of participating in the 2016 CSEAR Ireland conference which takes a critical perspective on social and environmental reporting (19-21 October).

Further details on the programme and logistics will be announced in 2016. Please see more details on the theme and our hosts below.

Mé, Sinn, Go Léir
The symbol on the left is Irish ogham script of the GRLI adage:  I, We, All of Us. Ogham is an ancient alphabet, widely used in stone inscriptions from the 5th and 6th century, and flows from bottom to top like a grassroots movement.

The initials in the picture stand for
Mé, Sinn, Go Léir. The use of go léir for All of Us is instructive, as the term has a number of meanings in Irish including enough. This then is also the origin of the English word galore, meaning an abundance. Sufficiency is actually abundance, enough is plenty.

Join the gathering in Limerick to explore current day global responsibility in leadership and practice through the lens of this ancient
sustainability perspective - Mé, Sinn, Go Léir.
Kemmy Business School - University of Limerick

Founded in 1972 and situated on a beautiful riverside campus in the Southwest of Ireland, KBS is formed by a number of influences, but perhaps most distinctively by the combination of the Kemmy legacy, and its close connections with business.

The Kemmy in Kemmy Business School was not a donor, but a local alderman, stonemason, trade unionist, historian and community organiser. Jim Kemmy’s life on the local and national stage was marked by a concern for the greater social good, a belief in education as key to accessing opportunities, and a tireless pursuit of fairness and quality of life for everyone.

Please send your proposals and inputs for the 2016 AGM to the support centre before the end of February. The Guardians are meeting in March to finalise the programme for our 2016 AGM.

I look forward to seeing you in Limerick.

Kind regards,

John North
