UPCOMING FC+ EVENTS

1. CLIC Innovation & FinCEAL+ Seminar: Re-Energizing International Cooperation - Renewable Energy Research with Third Countries, 19th November 2015, Marina Congress Center, Helsinki
CLIC Innovation (Finnish Bioeconomy and Cleantech Cluster) and FinCEAL Plus are organizing a joint 1-day seminar on international cooperation in Renewable Energy research, focusing especially on research collaboration with Third Countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean region. 2. UniPID Fall Seminar: Knowledge exchange for better policy and practice: A research – policy matchmaking event, 10-11th December 2015, Tieteiden talo, Helsinki
UniPID's Fall Seminar 2015 is dedicated to exploring challenges and opportunities of research – policy collaboration. The seminar will address the prerequisites and best practices of constructive knowledge-exchange between researchers and policymakers. We will look at different tools for effective multi-stakeholder co-operation, which facilitates evidence-based policy-making. Day 1, 10th December: Engaged scholarship workshop for researchers, day 2, 11th December: Research-policy matchmaking event. The seminar is supported by FinCEAL+. 3. FinCEAL Plus and China - Finland Strategic ICT Alliance seminar: STI Cooperation in Cleantech and Environment in Shanghai, 4th November 2015.
FinCEAL Plus in cooperation with China – Finland Strategic ICT Alliance are organizing a bi-regional seminar focusing on Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation in Cleantech and Environment in Shanghai, 4th November 2015. The seminar will be a part of Nordic Design and Innovation Week 2015 (NDIW2015) and aligned with the CleanConnect Congress held in Shanghai at the same time. More information

4. Apply now for FinCEAL+ Event Grants
The purpose of the Event Grants is to support the organization of workshops, seminars or other types of events related to science, technology and/or innovation cooperation with the project regions (Africa, Asia and the LAC region) or both Europe and the project regions. The grant is open to research groups based in Finnish research institutions, actively engaged in cooperation or seeking to build new cooperation with research partners from Africa, Asia and/or the LAC region and Europe. Deadline for applications is 13th NovemberMore information

5. FinCEAL+  Rolling Call for Travel Grants for PhD students focusing on the LAC region is open

6. Preparing a proposal for Horizon2020 with partners from Africa, Asia or the LAC region?
FinCEAL Plus offers Project Preparatory Funding on a rolling call basis to support applicants based in Finnish institutions who are in the process of preparing an application for collaborative research funding from European research funding schemes. 8. FinCEAL+ participated in the first Nordic Latin American Contact Seminar in Colombia and Peru 



The Contact Seminar was organized by the Swedish Council for Higher Education with the aim of strengthening cooperation in higher education with Colombia, Peru and other Latin American countries. FinCEAL+ Project Coordinator Kajsa Ekroos took part in the seminar together with a delegation of 35 university representatives of Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. Read more

9. FinCEAL+ joined ICT2015 - Innovate, Connect, Transform with a delegation of ten Finnish researchers 


FinCEAL Plus participated at the ICT2015 - Innovate, Connect, Transform 20-22 October in Lisbon with a delegation of ten Finnish researchers. The FC+ delegation joined over 7000 experts worldwide for three full packed days setting the ICT agenda for Europe both academically and politically. The action packed conference also shared information the 2016-17 Work Programme and you can still access the inside information on the H2020 ICT calls on the ICT2015 website. Read more

Horizon 2020 Societal Challenges 2 Info Day

Time: 25 November 2015
Location: Brussels and Online

Info Day on the 2016 calls for proposals of the Societal Challenge 2 - ‘Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy’ will be organised as part of the SC2 Info week and will be held in Brussels on 25 November. The Info Day will also be available as a web-stream. More information

IST-Africa call for abstract deadline 7 December, 2015

Time: 11-13 May 2016
Location: Durban, South Africa

The IST-Africa 2016 provides a platform to streghten Information Society, ICT, Innovation and Technology for Developmetn related policy dialogues within Africa and between Africa, Europe and the rest of the world. Call for abstracts is open until December 7th 2015. More information 

Impact Clinic for researchers of all fields

Time: Autumn 2015, every second week on Thursday
Location: Helsinki Think Company at Vuorikatu 5, Helsinki

Action Impact Clinic is targeted to the researchers of all fields. Join the clinic and get personal guidance on impact for Horizon 2020, Tekes and Strategic Research Council funding proposals. The clinic is open for all researchers of all organizations. The clinic is organized by the University of Helsinki Research Services with the support of Helsinki Innovation Services Ltd (HIS) and Helsinki Think Company. More information
