Hi everybody!
Here at Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition we rely on volunteers to do the great work of making cycling safer (and more fun) in the region. We're currently seeking people who would like to get more involved in the planning and execution of events, outreach and education.
Below are a few areas we could really use your help with.
General call for volunteers
Outreach:
We'd really like to step up our communications and outreach program. We're looking for some social media savvy people to help share information about cycling in the Pomona Valley region. If you're interested in helping out, even a little, let us know: Outreach
Education:
The backbone of our coalition is making sure people are safe when cycling. What better way to do this than offer bike safety classes, create educational material and share helpful tips and tricks about biking safe. We're looking for a few people to help expand our education programming. If you'd like to help make cycling safer in the region through our education program shoot us an email: Education
Advocacy:
Interested in keeping up with and sharing current issues that impact cycling in the region? We'd love if you'd help us with current and upcoming legislation, bicycle master plans, infrastructure updates and calls to action . This is a critical part of improving cycling infrastructure in the region, if you'd like to lend a hand let us know: Advocacy

Upcoming events
Operation Firefly
The Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition organizes groups of volunteers to meet for “street distributions†at undisclosed locations throughout Los Angeles where night-time bicycle ridership is expected to be high. The volunteers stop people who are riding bikes without lights in order to give them front and rear lights along with an information “spoke card†that explains the law for riding at night as well as tips they should know for night-time safety.
We're in the planning stages for our next Operation Firefly, more information will be posted to our website and Facebook soon.

Pomona Night-Time Christmas Parade!
December 12th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm We're entered into the 2015 Pomona Christmas Parade! We need to see as many bicycles with as many lights as possible. This year the parade is at night and the theme is ‘Twas the Lights before Christmas so come help us light up the night with bikes and lights! We'll be posting more information about that soon!
