Salish Sea Ballet is thrilled to announce our first Nutcracker!
The Nutcracker is an annual holiday tradition for ballet students all over the world, and starting this year, Friday Harbor is no exception. This ballet has a special place in the hearts of ballet audiences as well as current and former dancers. In addition to the magical story, one of the things that makes this an excellent experience for ballet students is that they can truly grow up with the ballet. The Nutcracker has roles for dancers of all ages and abilities, providing the opportunity for children to "grow up" through the ranks from Mother Ginger to party scene to mice to soldiers to snowflakes to waltz of the flowers and beyond!
Salish Sea Ballet will expand this opportunity each year as we develop into a full-length version of the ballet. This year, students enrolled in Ballet 1 through Ballet 3 (and our Variations class) will present four scenes from The Nutcracker in a private performance for the residents of the Life Care Center.
Rehearsals start Wednesday, November 4th and run through Wednesday, December 9th. Please contact Miss Jeanne for more information or to sign up!
