  • Once again, our Annual Apple Picking and Fun Fest Meet Up at Patterson's was a BLAST. Thanks to Ann McCarthy-Garland and Steve Kachmyers for coordinating our meet up space, donuts, and the member discount and to Ashley Taseff for making a great flier! A special thanks this year to Mother Nature because it was especally sunny and warm that day!

  • Mother Nature wasn't as kind for our Nature Hike, which was called on the count of sleetish-looking rain, but thank you Norma Polanco-Boyd and Steve Kachmyers for pulling it together - we have the binoculars and compasses, so you can be sure we will try this one again! Of course, kudos once again to Ashley Taseff for her continued assistance with our fliers!

GIVE YOUR DAY A SMART START…POWER UP WITH BREAKFAST
Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day. Breakfast gives you energy to start your day. People who regularly eat a healthy, balanced breakfast tend to have better concentration, be more physical activity, have an easier time managing their weight and have good cholesterol levels.
Here are some easy ways to get the nutrition you need with a quick easy breakfast.
  1. Instant Oatmeal with low fat milk, soy or almond milk.
Add ¼ cup applesauce and sprinkle with cinnamon and cook in the microwave
Add raisins, dried cranberries, apple, banana or chopped walnuts.
  1. Low fat or Greek Yogurt, add your favorite crunchy cereal and fruit.
  2. Toaster waffle topped with yogurt and fruit
  3. Stuff a whole wheat pita pocket with egg and low fat cheese.
  4. Whole Wheat Tortilla with peanut butter. Add a banana, roll it up and enjoy!
  5. English muffin with egg, low fat cheese or peanut butter.
  6. Bowl of cereal, low fat milk and a piece of fruit
