Announcing our Annual Recital theme...

When is the Recital?   Saturday May 14th.

Where is the Recital? Bon Secours Wellness Arena

Why are there two different shows ,Tweedle DAG and Tweedle Dee?  In an effort to shorten the recital we have divided the classes into two groups Tweedle Dee 3:00 pm and Tweedle DAG 7:00 pm each student will preform in one show. (Older students will most likely be in both shows and if your child takes multiple classes like hip hop, lyrical or contemporary in addition to ballet, jazz and tap they will be in both shows)

When will rehearsal be held?  We will announce specific times as we get closer but this is the plan. Tweedle DAG will have their rehearsal on a week night the week of May 9th. The specific day will be identified in March. This rehearsal will be held from 4pm - 9pm. Tweedle Dee will hold their rehearsal the morning of the recital on May 14th. We will have 1 drop off for rehearsal and the children will remain backstage through their show. The rehearsal and show will be back to back. We will schedule the rehearsal and show so that our youngest dancers in Kinderdanze 1, Kinderdanze 2 and Ballet 1 will be there for the shortest amount of time possible and will be finished with their performance at intermission.

Why did you create shows? We value the feedback from our parents. We understand that holding our rehearsal and a 1 LONG show was just too much. We agree. By simply dividing our school into two sections we can produce a wonderful show that is enjoyable for all involved. In addition to shortening the length of the actual show, it will decrease the amount of rehearsal time. The drop off and pick up process will be easier… less people. Another BONUS is the dressing rooms will have half the number of people in them as we did last year.

Why pick the Arena? There were many factors that played into this decision but here are the top items on our list. #1 Size. DAG dancers and supported by their friends and family! We had over 1,650 people attend our show last year. There is not another facility that can accommodate a school our size. Even when we hold two shows we need dressing room space for 200 plus dancers and the Arena is the best fit for our school at this time. #2 Dates. When checking with other possible venues that can hold a school of our size the only available dates were over Memorial Day weekend. We know that vacation days with your family are special and we did not want to hold recital during Memorial Day celebrations.

Something New and Exciting

We are currently working with the arena to have food vendors open so that the dancer who will be there for the longest time on Saturday (a rehearsal and preforming in both shows) will have the opportunity to purchase a meal in the arena between their shows.

November 15th - Recital Costume Fee's are due. We have all the "Dancing through Wonderland" costumes posted next our office door.  It is $65.00 per costume. Each class ballet, jazz, tap, hop hip, contemporary and lyrical will each have a separate costume.
